Live2D Cubism PSD import checklist
Use this guide to review a PSD's format, color settings, and layer structure before opening it in Live2D Cubism. RigCheck reads the header and structure in your browser, but it cannot guarantee the result of an import.
Your PSD is analyzed in your browser and is not uploaded to our server.
Run the local PSD checkReview these items first
- Save the file as a standard PSD rather than a PSB.
- Use RGB color mode and 8-bit/channel.
- Confirm the color profile is sRGB.
- Give import layers stable, unique names.
- Organize line art, fills, and clipping into an import-ready structure.
- Assume hidden layers and groups can still be imported.
Start with the required conditions
Live2D's official notes on PSD creation list PSD format, RGB, and 8-bit/channel as conditions for import. If one of these is wrong, fix the image mode before spending time on layer cleanup.
- Save the model artwork as a standard PSD.
- Do not leave the document in grayscale, CMYK, or another non-RGB mode.
- Use 8-bit/channel instead of 16-bit/channel or 32-bit/channel.
Shape the file for import
A material-separation PSD can contain useful editing groups, but an import PSD should combine the layers needed for each part. Keep in mind that the lowest layer in a group becomes the texture used for import.
- Check for duplicate layer and group names.
- Merge line art, fills, and clipping masks when they belong to one part.
- Do not leave layer masks in the import PSD; apply them first when needed.
- Review hidden layers and groups because they can be imported too.
Review color and layer attributes
A non-sRGB profile can cause an unintended color change during PSD import. For non-normal layer attributes, confirm that the corresponding Color blend option exists in the Cubism environment you are targeting.
PSD Opacity and Fill are not interchangeable. Review the official explanation and avoid relying on Fill alone for the final appearance.
Run a local check after saving
Select the saved import PSD in RigCheck to review its format, RGB/8-bit settings, embedded profile, layer names, masks, and clipping relationships. Treat the report as preparation help, not as a replacement for checking the file in your Cubism environment.
